Yes it had the factory muzzle brake from FN. I know a lot of guys, especially SF guys, shoot this with a supressor.
I have to be honest, having put a few thousand rounds downrange and in training scenarios on a large piece of rural property, I do not see the recoil as a problem on the SCAR-H. Maybe the gas system is that good, idk. But I ring targets with this gun consistently.
And in regards to a 5.56 v. 7.62 NATO=== bad shot to side of chest, abdomen, appendage with 5.56 may not mean a down target....that same shot with a 7.62 NATO means a better chance at that same target hitting the floor.
