As for the risible dissembling you cite, read a little history, would you?

While the origin of attacks against the early Christians was quite clear, the verbatim content of the Torah (the superseding Oral Torah, Torah She Beal'peh, not the Written Torah, Torah She Bich Tav) was largely unknown until converts like Nicholas Donin and Johannes Reuchlin revealed the horrifying content. The revelations were so horrifying (much more than I have provided here) that the rabbis were called to the Disputations at Tortosa (1413-1414 A.D.) and Paris (1240 A.D.). In each instance the rabbis were unable to defend the genocidal, blasphemous, and perverse content and necromancy. They admitted they had no defense, sooo.... In the intervening 5+ centuries, the rabbis created expurgated sanitized versions of the Torah for Gentile consumption and public relations, mostly in vernacular. It is those sanitized, self-censored vernacular editions to which contemporary rabbis point when the actual content is revealed. "See, it's not there." This is well-detailed by Princeton's Prof. of Judaic Studies Peter Schafer in his book Jesus in the Talmud (previously cited by me in post #49 on page 5 of this thread).

Revealingly, the latest English translation from the 1990's by Rabbi Adin Israel Steinsaltz (Nasi of the recently reconvened Sanhedrin, first among his peers, and a very prolific exegete) pulled no punches, but there was such an uproar about the explicit anti-Gentile content so available to the English-speaking world that publication was suspended indefinitely. Because of that, the Steinsaltz English Translation remains incomplete, many missing Tractates.

The late humanitarian Prof. Israel Shahak provided many examples of how Torah content was sanitized. Here is an example of gross racism by Maimonides that has been concealed in translation, or rather lack of translation of Kushim. Check it out in Google Books:

"Some of the Turks and the nomads in the North, and the Blacks and the nomads in the South, and those who resemble them in our climates. And their nature is like the nature of mute animals, and according to my opinion they are not on the level of human beings, and their level among existing things is below that of a man and above that of a monkey, because they have the image and the resemblance of a man more than a monkey does." Another example is Steven Spielberg's bowdlerized Talmud quote fabricated for the publicity in the run up for his Schindler's List movie: "He who saves a single life, saves the entire world." The problem is that the actual quote even in the relatively sanitized Soncino English edition reads: "Whosoever preserves a single soul of Israel, Scripture ascribes to him as if he had preserved a complete world" (Tractate Sanhedrin 37a). Gentile lives have no such value.

Also, when you cite the supposed authorities using expurgated editions, I remind you that Rabbi Adin Israel Steinsaltz, the man who fills Caiaphas' shoes today, described 6 categories of permissible lying:

(1) scholarship (including Torah scholarship), (2) sexuality, and (3) hospitality

(4) lying to gentiles (Baba Kamma 113a)

(5) for "peace" (meaning, "it's OK to lie to keep out of trouble") (Yebamoth 65b)

(6) when everyone should know you are lying, "guzmah" (Hullin 90b)

Here is another nugget from Rabbi Steinsaltz that you may check for yourself:

“Rabbis are liable to alter their words, and the accuracy of their statements is not to be relied upon.” The Talmud: The Steinsaltz Edition, Vol. II, pp. 48-49.
