Is 6.5 better than 6.8 for hunting

I think that perhaps we need to take higher ground here and rather than propose and foster a 6.5 vs 6.8 argument, should instead simply look to each cartridge and expound the merits per the application without comparison. I feel that a solid discussion of the projectiles types and hunting capability of the cartridge will provide the most benifit to the community, especially those looking at the Grendel for the first time for hunting.

Game type and anatomy might be a part of such discussion as it does effect how projectiles are selected.

Well, there goes all my 6.8 bashing. All kidding aside, when I was researching getting a new rifle caliber to deer hunt with, I looked at the .308, 6.8 and 6.5. I settled on the 6.5 because 1) I did not want to lug a .308 around and 2) The 6.5 seemed to offer me more bullet choices. Most rifles come down to personal choice. I have friends with 6.8 and they love them. I just chose to go in a different direction. An AA Tactical upper on a Plum Crazy polymer lower is very light, dependable and serves me well as a deer rifle.
