Economy is good?

I know what it means to re-boot a computer. I have absolutely no idea what it means to "re-boot" the economy, let alone how it could be done.

It means they are currently desperately trying to reinflate a bubble. Our economy goes through periodic booms and busts (the normal cycle). The longer you suppress a bust, the more harsh it hits you when it comes. The artificial manipulation of our economy and the markets pushed the boom too far and created a massive bubble at the top. That bubble never comepletely deflated, and was patched over by extreme interference in the system. They can't maintain it forever, and when it does indeed pop it will have catastrophic consequences for our economy, and our society as a whole.

Our Progressive leaders will likely take advantage of the crisis to foment even more progressive/socialist policies under the auspices of never letting a crisis go to waste. In the past there were various traits/mechanisms that helped us to recover, but the vast majority of them have been extinguished. Things are likely going to get VERY bad, and decent folks hope that if it does happen, maybe we can at least rebuild with our constitution intact.

P.C. Version---- We started out with an excellent operating system, but as our hard drive was loaded with ever increasing loads of bad programs the system eventually couldn't take it and crashed. Service stopped, and people weren't happy. The system might get "rebooted" by starting over with our original operating system without all the crap that choked us to death.

Hillbilly version: Too many "folks" ate their welfare cheese till they couldn't walk, and then rode our donkey until they broke his back. Now we have a broken ass, and the "folks" can't even move. They are too fat to carry on our own, so they'll have to starve until they either die or get up. Either way, we ain't gonna carry the freeloaders no more after our donkey is dead.
