If you're insinuating that the south succeeded to preserve slavery and then fought a bloody war over it, the progressive have claimed another victory of their institutes of indoctrination (public schools) through you're ignorance of US history. The amendment that abolished slavery was only possible because of the succession of the southern states. Otherwise Washington wouldn't of had the votes to do so, for another 30+ years. The civil war was fought to determine which had the higher authority the federal government or the states.
