Let's see how the song changes when 100 to 1000 of the spectators are hospitalized for dehydration with maybe a few heat stroke deaths thrown in for good measure.

B. The restrictions apply to the bike riders, not spectators.

And, by the way, we give up liberties as a condition of travel on public transportation...again for the illusion of perfect safety. Many of us do not have the option of staying home.

Yes. So what? The point is you DO comply with the restrictions; you don't stage armed insurrection against the government for infringing on your liberties.
