I was talking about American citizens not war combatants. Knowing ones rights is due process. We use to need warrants for searches but the process of law seems to be on the fast tract to un-limited search and seizures. We now need drones and unrestricted intrusions in our lives to be safe. Feel any safer yet? We shut down the city of Boston and send in the Homeland security with their new toys to find a 26 and 18 year old want to be jehad-est. Yet we have hundreds of people being murdered on our Mexican border with human heads showing up in peoples driveways, tons of illegal narcotics flowing over the border and this problem is responded to with a yawn. Common sense has to dictate in every situation but to blindly accept the party line is not only stupid but proven dubious at best. Trust has to be earned and when administration after administration has been caught lying, trust is hard to come by. When do you take the party line as a given and when do you begin to question it? Gun runner , Ruby ridge, etc has created the distrust that exist today. I don't see booger men under every rock but the old saying trust but verify comes to mind. Verification seems to be in short supply these days. We as a nation need to up hold or at least try to uphold the rule of law. If blindly accepting everything your being told is your way of thinking more power to you. I'm glad there are people questioning every motive and action that is going on. We may have crazy conspiracy theories every where but being told 30 years ago our nation would look the way it does today I would have thought that was a crazy conspiracy. Being treated like a moron by our representatives and being given information that they feel we could handle or understand maybe ok with you but I would rather know the truth, wort's and all. I sure don't take it personally if someone comes up with something that seems way out there. Sometimes truth can be stranger than fiction.
