Maybe if I lived in a socialist nation for 10 years this country would look a lot better but I grew up in remote Montana and lived as a free person without a big nanny state telling me how to wipe my nose. I guess I will never get use to a cage.

Being less free doesn't equate to living in a communist state. If you equate the USA today as a socialist/communist nation, then you don't know what a socialist/communist state really is. I spent 10 years in Europe as part of my US military service. I was always cognizant of the differences between our societies and system of government.

I also said:

Have we been drifting away from rugged individualism and self sufficiency? - yes.

...and I also am not happy about it.
