The miranda rights thing is a little troubling.

I'm still concerned about how they acquired the weapons and how it will affect some additional legislation for gun control, UBC's, and tracing gun powder.

I'm not concerned at all. They may lose self incriminating evidence but there is plenty of evidence to convict him without his own testimony. The intel gained for potential co-conspirators outweighs his own testimony. Heck, I keep seeing new pictures of the pair on the streets of Boston in commission of their dastardly deed.

Acquired the weapons?...they are homemade weapons (at least the bombs) that aren't difficult if you have some basic knowledge. You can search the internet for such instructions (but be prepared for a visit from your local FBI agent).

I know there is talk of holding him (suspect #2) as an enemy combatant, but I would have a problem with that unless there is evidence that he was acting on instructions from some al Qaeda cell. Like it or not, he is an American citizen who committed an act of terror on American soil. I say try the bastard in civilian court on charges that would include treason and execute him as an example (which is what should have happened to Johnny "Taliban" Walker Lindh).
