I hear all this talk about paying attention to history but that seems to be where it ends.

Tell me how the Wounded Knee of the 1870's will be used as a model for the extermination of a minority group in the USA today. What was the aftermath of both Wounded Knee incidents in terms of law. And, Kent State in terms of law? It is easy to say that laws can be changed or ignored. Laws can be changed or ignored. However, it is much harder for the government to do so today than ever before due to the internet and its ability to communicate with hundreds of millions of people in less than a second.

Also, the gun rights crowd is good at informing people about paying attention to history. But when they cite someone who claims to be a 'Crusader fighting Islam and Satanic Death Cults', their credibility disappears and with it the argument. I thought America was founded based on freedom to worship as one pleased? Obviously, this fellow doesn't believe in the Constitution.

Instead of telling us what happened and that the left wants to ban all guns (something they desperately want), how about telling us what you are doing about it, how effective you believe your efforts are, and advice for those who want to jump into the fight. A road map of success will get people on our side.

Gene, you make some great points.

However, his self description is pretty much tongue in cheek, especially if you read anything else he has written.

The issue is that local leaders may have no opportunity to make a decision regarding the situation, if federal intervention occurs beforehand. The Sheriff in New Orleans SHOULD have been the one making decisions regarding where the National Guard was deployed and how they were used. Instead, FEMA bureaucrats were making those decisions, along with the Mayor and Chief of Police, both of whom should be rotting in Federal Prison for their absolute revocation of the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Amendments while the disaster progressed.

What we are now faced with is a Congress led by big city politicians who are extremely liberal, elected by a populace that is 60/40 liberal in big cities, but 70/30 conservative in small cities/towns/rural. So effectively we have about a government led by people from big cities who would not win a vote if it were nationally based. Those liberal politicians are afraid of guns, because they understand very well that guns in the hands of the population may lead to unseating of the power they control.

And as for a long term winning program....I will agree 100%, we need a plan, but so far no one has advanced one that will work without unseating those power players. I wish I could figure one out!
