Our nation had division of power and I see it being consolidated with the blessing of many. This is why the second amendment is so important.
Agreed on all counts. That is why I emphasize the need to apply objective moral standards for Yankees, Confederates, Germans, and those who whine when they suffer what they have done to others. In large degree the USA has swallowed moral subjectivism—and I predict that "might makes right" and "because we can" ethic will be an important contribution to the downfall of the current empire. The world at large should not and will not long tolerate Master Race creeds and the "we can do it to you, but you cannot do it to us" exceptionalism that Master Race creeds claim for themselves.

Agreed. There doesn't need to be, but the DOJ memo is "smoking gun" [pun intended] evidence of the goal and the search for a plan.
I believe the economic evidence at hand (like the food issues you raise) explains "their" willingness to abandon their tried-and-proven incrementalism. I read a certain desperation in their recent efforts. Likely they recognize that they—and we—are on a very short string.
Their reach has far exceeded their grasp. They are certainly experts in boiling frogs, but they are not infallible. I believe they made some major miscalculations that have seriously set them back, even if only temporarily. With Americans buying guns every 1.5 seconds and emptying the shelves of ammo, components, and accessories, it is quite clear that many Americans are not buying what they are peddling. One way or another they will be back at us again.
