Maybe I am wrong but the pro gun side just lost the last election. This means that the majority or at least half of the US is not worried about the second amendment. The military leadership seems to be going through a cleansing. Many states at this moment are enacting gun bans and restrictions one year ago wouldn't have been thought possible. Government agency's are buying un presented amounts of weapons and ammunition. The lies and propaganda through the DOJ and network TV are growing daily.
I was not trying to insinuate people in the military are un able to think but can be susceptible to propaganda like anybody else. We need to embrace military and law enforcement people who are strong supporters of the second amendment and educate the ones who are not. There is a strong campaign in this country to demonize gun owners with the support of many law enforcement and military personnel. Military personnel are no less susceptible to propaganda than the citizenry. Military personnel are first and foremost taught to follow orders. With enough propaganda any thing is possible. Many people on this forum are military or ex military as I am, but I am not delusional enough to think the impossible could not happen here. When a stacked supreme court rules the gun bans and restrictions are constitutional, good, luck trying to disobey orders to support and assist apprehending criminals "aka gun owners" who refuse to obey the law.
