While feeling that Dorner may have gotten what he deserved, I still do not believe that he received it in a manner that was appropriate.
This was not the rule of law espoused by the Founding Fathers. This was vigilante justice, pure and simple. The fact that it was carried out by LEO's and not a mob makes it WORSE in my view. These men are sworn to uphold the law of the land, and they did not do so. That should give everyone reason to pause and reconsider.
What if you, or someone you loved, was put into a situation where you were believed to have done something that could be construed as a crime, panicked, and ran. You then holed up somewhere and came to your senses, realizing that the scenario was not so bleak and could be explained appropriately. By the time you realized this, the LEO community was descending on your hideout. When you walked out, it was to a hundred LEO's with rifles raised. Would you be 100% confident that none of them would make a mistake after having seen and read about what happened at Dorners confrontation? I'm not!
It's highly doubtful that those officers will ever be identified, and its even possible that the tapes were doctored to make them look bad, (remember the network doctoring the George Zimmerman tapes?) When you can't be sure of the evidence, (and NO ONE is sure of the evidence at this point in the Dorner case!), then the accused deserves his day in court. At this point, at least from what I've seen, it appears Dorner actually shot himself, but once again, thats the Mainstream Media reporting what they've been told by the same group that supposedly said "Burn him out!"
