What if you were framed for murder or such and the local swat brought in their para-military tanks and fire bombs and destroyed you and your family before you every had a chance present your case to the jury? What if the people cheered yep he deserved it. He was scum…I know he was the TV/internet said so….
Justice is served by upholding the laws, and bringing to trial a criminal. The police have sworn to uphold these laws. If they will not uphold the laws, they do not belong in position of trust and power. Police do have a right to protect there lives with terminal force just like you and I do. Burning down a holed-up murderer is not self defense. It is execution.
+1. I see both sides of the story. If he had harmed my family/friends, I would be in favor of GG's assessment. But from the other side of the fence, if I were the accused, I would expect the opputunity to give my testimony. Now, if I chose to hole up and take my chances, well, you see what can happen. I dont think it was right, but he pretty well chose his fate. Some of you should read the book "Unintended Consequenses". Its fiction, but based on government events of the past and what can/may happen.
