For that matter why does it have to in the 123 gr family. I agree the 123 gr seems to be the sweet spot for the Grendel in HPBT Match family, but I don't think we need a round that large for a GPR.

More importantly, the requirement for lead free construction makes it unlikely that a general issue ball projectile would be that heavy.

My engineering hypothesis is that we're going to find the best answer in a 6.5 Grendel FMJBT closer to 110 grs.

I'd love to see a FMJBT in the 105 - 115 gr range developed and optimized for the Grendel.

Even that may be heavier than is practical. The FMJBT bullet developed for Wolf's steel case ammo is only 100 grains.
