The way I learned it in 7th grade civics class is that governments employs 3 kinds of military forces (1) Field forces- for heavy combat (think US Army) (2)Regime protecion forces to impose its will on its own people (think DEA, ATF FBI) and (3) Ceremonial forces (think air force band). Would any of these forces fire on American civilians?....Think about Waco and Ruby Ridge. Try not to think about the song "Marching Through Georgia" . And as for silly police officers saying they wont enforce any new gun control laws ; they say that while supporting and feeding inteligence to the people (FBI etc) who will do the deed.
