Mossberg MVP

On some further thought a MVP in 6.5 Grendel might not be the best choice. Consider that the current MVP has a 18"barrel and weights in at 8-9 lbs. Sure you could put a longer barrel on it and make it even heavier. But what you want/need in a fast, low recoiling carbine type of hunting gun. Perhaps (may I say it ) a 458 Socom using standared AR magazines would be better suited in a thick woods role; the heavy rifle could better soak up the kick, and standared mags are easier to get,

It needn't stay 8-9 pounds... The first thing I'd want to do is ditch the laminate stock, use a fluted 16" barrel, etc....
