I have contacted Senator Begich and got basically the same response that he has put out in the media. I haven't seen him say he won't vote for an assault weapons ban though. Doig so would be political suicide in Alaska.
On another note, my State Representative has introduced a Nulification Bill in the State House that would make it a misdemeanor for a Federal Official to try and enforce any gun law that was passed after January 1st of this year, including the Excecutive Orders that were issued.
