I'm an old ER nurse, (before I went back to school), and I know the abuse you mention occurs. Prior to returning to school to be a nurse, I was in the insurance industry for a decade, selling life and health insurance. I've seen the abuses you discuss.
But what is the solution? How do we keep crazy people away from guns, while allowing the normal ups and downs of life to meander along? I know I am VERY careful with my diagnosis codes and notes when it comes to mental illness, because I am very aware of the rights that people may lose with the stroke of a pen.
I know how Post-Partum depression and PMDD can be used against a woman to disallow her the right to a firearm.
But what do we need to look at? Throwing our hands up and screaming "you can't do that" doesn't work, and it doesn't help.
We need people on OUR side to start proposing viable solutions, or we will be left only with the solutions of the gun grabbers!
