Les Baer moved from Illinois to Iowa a couple years ago. FN moved Winchester to Columbia, SC. Para moved from Canada to North Carolina.
Naw, its simply a financial issue. If it doesn't affect their pocket books directly, publicly owned companies don't move for ethical or moral reasons, or to make a statement. Their shareholders would scream at the cost and loss of profit and revenue to make those kinds of moves. Those companies have been able to stay there and be perfectly happy, because they have been given tax breaks and incentives by the states to stay. At this point, though, some of them will be rethinking it.
That 7 round limit affects lots of handguns, including all the Kimbers. It affects all the Ruger .22's, even M1A's have 8 round internal mags. That number was a very conscious effort to get rid of lots of the guns that they wanted to get rid of!
