It is time to move to Rio Rancho, New Mexico. That will put you a couple of miles from a 1000 yd range(http://www.delnortegunclub.com/) and you won't even realize you are not living in LI any more( 70% of the population is from NY). Lots of retired cops and firemen. No beaches but plenty of mountains....no hurricanes but down here the wind blows every day.
