Prior to 12/13 I was thinning out my collection of rifles that collect dust. After the sandy Hook shooting I decided to sell off 3 FAL's, 2 Garand's and 1 NIB M1A. I was not using the rifles and was looking to clear space and get some more $$$ back into the fund.
So now I have 3 complete AR's (2 - 223, 1 - 7.62X39) and everything needed to build my Grendel except the kit. I have been waiting for a while for J&T to ship my kit, with no ETA yet. Do I cancel the kit and sell the receiver, RRA NM LPK plus ammo and reloading supplies? I picked up 600 rnds of 6.5 (400 Hornady 123 gr amax, 200 Wolf 120 MPT) plus dies and 1K(400 Nosler 123gr CC, 300 Hornady 123gr AMAX, 300 120 gr SMK) of bullets to reload. Should they ban AR's here in NY I will have to sell everything except the ammo and reloading supplies. This sucks but I don't want to have to do a fire sale to remain legal. I am wondering if I should pick up another 6.5 bolt gun and skip on the AR? My concern is if they pass legislation that bans and confiscates "Assault Weapons" I could be forced to do a fire sale.
