Since the good rep from California has her mind set on abrogating the Second Amendment which in turn abrogates the Fifth Amendment, perhaps we should call for the repeal of the Nineteenth Amendment.

Voting was never meant as a RIGHT. Especially not this "basic" or "fundamental" right people refer to it as.

Voting is a RESPONSIBILITY. It's the greatest responsibility a US citizen has bestowed upon them. That's exactly how the founding fathers saw it.

Originally one vote was granted to every land owner. Essentially giving a vote to virtually every family, in turn was a vote to the Americans who had a stake in the future of this nation. It DID NOT prevent woman or any race from voting contrary to popular belief, that came into effect much later.

To cast a vote without making an INFORMED decision and without regard to the future of this nation and the future generations that will inherent it is as immoral as selling secrets to our enemies. This I believe is the root of our nations problems. If we are to ever fix this country we need to fix this problem.

I propose to fix this problem the constitution be amended to change voting from a right to an EARNED privilege. The path to earning the privilege must be black and white as politicians will try to manipulate it for their benefit.

My humble suggestion would be that to vote on the Americans we send to Washington you need to have done military service obtaining an honorable discharge or are currently serving or have paid federal taxes each of the previous 4 years.

This would not insure all voters are informed, but it would insure all voters have an investment in the future of this country.
