Ahhh .. you could run into feeding issues with the Remington Ruger and Savage. They are not "micro" length actions and are kinda ment to feed at least .308 length ammo. And I think that the shorter "micro" length action has more potential accuracy as there is less length in them to bend during recoil. That said, you can load longer hand loads from the longer actions.

I'm not really sure why you believe there would be feeding issues with those...yes, they are longer actions than necessarily needed, but that just means it may take a fraction of a second longer to cycle.

The Savage 7.62x39 parent rifle has a plug in the back of the magazine to accommodate the shorter cartridge. The Grendel cartridge fits with no mods necessary to the magazine.

I'm using the Savage 10 FCP (7.62x39) as my project rifle. I have all the components needed, just need to gunkote the barrel (Pac-Nor http://www.pac-nor.com), strip the bluing off the receiver and gunkote that as well. Hopefully will be shooting it by mid January.
