Assault Weapons Ban? How about this?

I heard Obama's speech, and while there was hints at an assault weapons ban, there was something else that stood out to me. What I'm talking about is his mention of a background check requirement on all firearm sales.

That means no more private sales. Can you imagine being forced to use a dealer for all firearm sales? I can't imagine how such a thing would inflate the cost of transfers, and decrease the value of used guns.

I'll likely become an FFL in that case...I hope it is defeated
