Several posts have mentioned "Liberal" this or that, but don't be naive; both parties have dirt (blood) on their hands and bear some responsibility.
"Gun Free Zones" are really just "Retaliation Free Zones", I think most everyone here can agree on that. Clearly they are not doing what they were meant to do.
I don't know what the solution is. But, right now I would listen to ANY idea that would stop this terror. For crying out loud, little kids can't even feel safe anymore in an effing school. I'm even sadder than I was before.
I can't fully see the benefit of having armed guards patrolling campuses. In this and the mall shooting, armed policemen responded within minutes from the outset. That goes back to the notion that in most instances the police cannot PROTECT you, they can only respond after the shooting has begun. Certainly, the numbers would be lower, but anything above 0 is still too high. Minimize the damage is BS. What can we do to prevent it from happening.
Sorry for the political explosion. I'm not going to post any more on this subject, but I don't mind reading everyone else's insight. Maybe someone out there has a good solution.
