We need to give our teachers firearms training and stop tying the hands of law abiding citizens with stupid laws, laws that, much like the gun free zones, only make us all more vulnerable.

But liberalism has destroyed the schools; You cant spank your kids anymore, the "education" where our kids cant even read their diplomas, the movies we watch, the violent video games, the bias of the liberal media and Hollywood... and indeed the absent parents

We've been discussing this in my household (wife and 16 yr old son).

We're all disgusted with the liberal elite immediate reaction calling for gun control. Apparently someone has created a petition on the white house site calling for gun control. I'm considering creating a petition calling for restricting graphic violence in various media formats (movies, games) just to goad that crowd some.

Guns aren't the problem...the path liberal society has taken is the root cause. As Grendel Gene mentioned, can't discipline your kids, access to violent movies on cable, violent video games, broken families, pre-occupied parents, creation of "gun free zones" that are merely magnets for violence, elimination of institutions for mentally ill, inability to teach morals in school, etc.

After the tragic school shooting in Connecticut on Friday, MSNBC's Ed Schultz implied that the Second Amendment is invalid because those who wrote it were slave owners, oppressed women and "were short on tolerance."

Do you think they also believe the First Amendment is also invalid?

I think we'll have to improve automated security measures in all schools in addition to full time armed security on the premises. Licensed concealed carriers should also be allowed to carry in schools, teacher or not.
