I was at our local mall that evening and ate at our food court. If someone had started shooting I would have returned fire as quickly as I could have dodged either left or right to get clear of my family (who I would have instructed to get down on the floor). As a FLEO I can carry everywhere I go. It is a shame (and somewhat criminal) that many public establishments prohibit concealed carry by lawful citizens like you and I. I don't believe in (and am repulsed by) the notion of "civilians" vs. "law enforcement". We are all citizens equally, and places that prohibit concealed carry should be able to be sued and held criminally liable for disarming honest folk when things like this happen.
