I have experience with the Beowolf. 2 shots! Had a failure in the mag release. Broke for some reason. I do not know why everyone is so scared of the recoil. It was very, very managable. I have an AR10 with a 16" barrel, and it gives a sharp but quick recoil. The .50 Beowolf and the .335 ammo I used gave only a push to the shoulder.
If you watch the video, it has a tank break on it. So does mine. Also, the climb of the rifle is about 25 degrees - pretty big. The guy could have reduced that greatly with a vfg. With the tank break, recovery is fast. I loved seeing Bill A. on the tube again. If folks new of what he had accomplished, he would be extremely recognizeable. I am not sure if the guy made the shot, but it insinuated that Bill was seeing if he could access an object at 200. Who cares. the weapon is capable.
I agree with txgunner00 about the previous episode. I could not believe what I was seeing. Nothing to indicate a safe environment. It does not turn me completely off the to the show, but the producers showed their ignorance of what should be shown and known in a scenario such as the one shown. The LE did give the family good advice, at least in regards to what complete idiots they were to leave a covered position. Been there and done that. Could not believe they went straight out in the open to engage. Guess they learned.
