However, the data somewhat support my occasional carry of a .22 long. I never feel underarmed with it, but some people would laugh. 10 shots with a quick reload is not equal to 17 shots with a quick reload from my XDm .40, but I suspect would handle virtually every situation I might be faced with in real life, as opposed to the "what if" scenarios we can all dream up.
Yes, an in a large percentage of personal defense cases, just drawing a weapon will end the confrontation, or prevent one from starting to begin with.
