I'm close to swapping in a Grendel-based cartridge for my Savage Model 16. I went with this one for the project since it appears that one can swap barrels without necessarily asking a gunsmith to do it.
The barrel nut on the Savage is designed to make headspacing fairly straightforward with no lathe work needed. Lots of info on the Savage Shooters Forum.
