Before you give up on brakes completely try "Center shot rifles" their brakes are kind of a chevron style so you get no dust bomb when you shoot and they are extremely efficient.
My .300RUM shoots berger 185gr 3390fps and I have shot 20-30 rounds in one session and never been sore or even flinch from it.
My friend Corey loved mine so much he put one on his .270WSM and he loves it too!
