The barrel was cut back to 19.5in and is no better. Accuracy is around 4inches at 200m.
On the 'up' side, pacnor are making a barrel for me as we speak. I'm going to use this one on my 6.5/06 project and have ordered a lilja #2 1:10 twist for the little mauser.
Also on the 'up' side, the rifle now sits in a basner hightech specialties stock. 19.5in #3 profile, kahles 2-7x36 scope, weaver bases and rings, full action and bottom metal in the basner stock with a pachmayer recoil pad.
Total weight?
6lb 8.1oz.
Wow! Sounds like a great backpacking rifle.
