One of the only real good ways to check headspace is with a set of go & no go guages...Doing a chamber casting would also be helpfull in determining
if you have a tight chamber that may also be giving you high pressure problems...I know the guages can be pricey but, they can also be rented for a
fair price, this would be the most cost effective way to help determine possible headspace Issues...Good luck.
