That's interesting, Stan. I've never examined a SAR-21, but I've heard good things about it from users, the main criticism being that the issue optical sight is useless at night since the aiming point can't be seen.

How do they get over the left-handed problem - is the port a long way forwards, or does it just eject the cases in a forwards direction?

Unfortunately, Tony, those are specifics that didn't register on me. The only detail I recall with some clarity is that it had a prominent case deflector molded as part of the stock, and (rightly or wrongly) I attributed that with causing the lefty-friendly ejection pattern.
