Which chamber for a custom bolt gun?

I have an old K&P barrel that was on one of my 1000yd br guns that I took off when it was still shooting great. Its a 6.5 8.25 twist 1.25 straight.

Going to cut about three inches from the lands and end up with a 25" barrel. Wanted a short case to chamber and thought about the 6.5wssm but some sort of improved blown out version of the grendel seems more appealing.

Question is. What do you think the case capacity might be if I reduced taper, went 40* shoulder, and increased length so that I only had about 1/8 neck length?

The reaseon for the neck length being short is just an experiment or confirmation of a mistake that turned out working really well many years ago. I have witnessed an extreemly short neck/tight neck chamber shoot very low speed deviations and continuously win 1000 yard BR matches.

Thought I would call Dave Kiff and have a reamer set up to mimic the short tight neck on a Grendel just for an experiment. Have been wanting to do this for some time but until the 120 class vld's came out I didn't see the need to try.

Not hijacking, thought OP(being an experimenter) would be interested.
