My partner for FinnSniper had USO build him a 35mm tube with a 58mm obj, and he had them put the windage on the left side, so he could use his non-firing hand to do all the adjustments without breaking much stock weld or firing hand placement. I think he had an SN-3 T-PAL 5-25x58 done, which is purpose-built for 2000yd plus apps. I did notice quite a bit of extra FOV on that scope, and the glass was very clear and crisp. It's a monster, but your 30" barrel .338 Bolt gun will not care if you put a large scope on it. Just use quality rings with plenty of purchase area and a secure base, but you already know that. I've seen some guys blow their scope and mounts loose with heavy .338 loads, even with the 250gr pills pushed to extreme pressures.
