One thing I have come to realize about California, is that it is effectively an authoritarian administrative State with a massive bureaucracy to manage the peasants.
It resembles nothing of the US form of government.
Its a place where the populace fears the administrators and govt employees, who command a vast army of very heavy-handed police in the cities.
Citizens are expected to come begging for their rights to councils, which do not grant access or redress as a rule.
Once you get out into the rural counties, its a lot different, but still subject to the administrative state.
Were talking about a place that pioneered Eugenics, which were admired and later mirrored by Hitler in the 1930s-1940s.
