It is important to remember that copper or gilding metal (the "GM" of GMX) is only about 80% the density of lead. The 120 gr GMX is physically the size of a 150 grain lead core bullet, so pretty large for the Grendel. From what I have seen, most of the Hornady GMX/CX bullets need about 2000 fps to open, so the effective range would be pretty short.
