squid- The entire gun market seems to be suffering from an unexpected surge in demand, especially in the AR segment. Even Ruger announced a while back that they were so backlogged that no new orders were being accepted. Industry insiders expect more major manufacturers to make similar announcements.
The delays with smaller custom build-to-order operations, that are so dependent upon parts from others, are what's most visible to us as consumers. The issue is not limited to Alexander Arms, but is quite widespread.
I have all the parts except one to complete a particular build. It simply isn't available until the manufacturer makes more. I can either wait, or select an alternative part.
I understand your frustration, and not sure that anyone truly understands what's going on in the firearms segment right now, but things might get worse before they get better. Settle in and try to muster up some patience with the rest of us.
