Have a few shorties and creating a distance one. I think this cartridge is the best. Good capacity, energy, velocity, weight. I'm in Southern Arizona and looking to learn a lot.

Welcome from California. I am new here also, and I think the 6.5 Grendel is the best cartridge for a mini-action, IOW, AR-15 platform. I wouldn't want to be ONLY with this cartridge as it is not capable of taking medium->large game in NA. For the COL, I think it is one of the better, but there's a lot of great cartridges out there. The bottom line is that it really depends on what you plan to do with the cartridge, as well as what you expect of it. I wouldn't take a Grendel out to intentionally hunt bear...although if I only had it I would use it if there was no other choice.

I'm moving to the 6.5 Grendel from 300 Blackout as I was worried of being under armed. I'm not going to give up the 8.6 Blackout.
