I was skinning a nice big buck years ago, and was working around the hindquarters, when I heard a clunk. It was a round musket ball that had fallen on the floor and was somewhat flattened. It was either that the deer had been born during the Civil War, or my cousin shot it. He was going through his muzzle loader phase at that time. I think I gave it back to him and had a little fun at his expense. Geez, he shot it in the butt. No way to tap dance out of that fact.
And, one I nearly forgot. I was sneaking through the woods early one morning, when I saw a small doe. I had no intention of shooting it, but I continued to sneak up on it. It turned and saw me, but didnt run. It had an arrow sticking out of its rectum, and I suppose it was near collapse or death. I put it out of its misery. Nobody ever admitted to causing that.
