Thanks. No Mules around TN. The white tail, on the large side, are 140 lbs field dressed. Most shots are within 200 yards. Wish we had mules. More meat for the work.

On my last elk trip, I had several shot opportunities on mulies, who must know the season schedule by heart, because they couldn’t have cared less about our presence. The elk on the other hand were hyper-aware that they were being hunted, and did an outstanding job of staying as far away from hunters as possible.

For Southeast US deer, you can pretty much pick any bullet you like in 6.5 Grendel, including the 90gr TNT, 95gr V-MAX, and 100gr NBT, maybe even just light-load them for no recoil but enough to run the action to bolt lock, and you’ll be fine.
