Single based powders will be the mot temp stable, add the Nitro Glycerin to it and get more energy for velocity from it but there goes the temp stability.
Higher energy powder will give the highest velocity but at a cost. If hooting for long range go Single base powder with very low ES and accuracy. At 100 or 200 yards you might not really notice a 100fps swing for hunting and I have seen factory loads that would do 3 shot group under an inch at 100 and 200 yards measure over 100 fps ES.
