Reading my mind. I was also thinking about an Hk416 type 6.5 Grendel.
Use the Hk 416 receiver set approach with their longer barrel extension, but make it a hybrid Stoner gas system/intermittent tappet for accuracy and no gas introduced into the BCG, like the Perun.
BrownellÂ’s just started offering their BRN-4 kits that are compatible with the Hk416:
