Biggest thing for 6.5 Grendel if you shoot the Wolf Steel case, then want to switch to brass case, is to clean the chamber with a 6.5 Grendel Chamber brush.
The steel cases dont obturate and rebound as easily as brass cases, so a lot of fouling leaks back over the case into the chamber and acts like grit.
The steel case runs fine since the cases are more resilient to changing shape, but the brass cases really like to obturate to the chamber wall and stick.
Have a short section of cleaning rod and a 6.5 Grendel AR-15 chamber brush, soak it in bore cleaner and turn it, then follow up with a mop or patch wrapped around the chamber brush until its clean.
I clean the bore cleaner out with rubbing alcohol, run a patch or 2 through the bore to make sure no residual cleaner is in there, and commence to blasting.
This is on a basic beater AR-15 Grendel with nitrided barrel.
Only reason why I had to go through this recently was because I let a guy use my 12 Grendel as a loaner for a DM Course. His zero stop needed adjustment on his 16 Grendel and he didnt know how to do it, and we were crunched for time before moving into the night shooting, so I just handed him the 12.
He brought a lot of that steel case, so thats what he ran through it.
I had 1 malfunction the next day shooting PPU 110gr that Im assuming was due to that, because after I cleaned it, it hasnt skipped a beat and has run 100% for the past 6 years, almost all of that suppressed, other than some initial test-firing while I was waiting on my GAYTF infringements to clear.
