I contacted pac-nor, preferred barrels, and mcgowen today. We'll see what I get back.
This afternoon PacNor emailed back and said they don't do barrel nuts. So they're out.
I can't set up and headspace a non-barrel nut barrel.
Appreciate all the ideas here.

Preferred Barrels pushes their parallel tapered contours as being more accurate. They claim the harmonics are better but offer no evidence. Still unclear how they rifle their barrels, and then stress relieve them. If precision is paramount for competition, single point cut rifling seems more consistent to every other method.IMO

If I wanted to guarantee high odds that my new barrel is a “shooter” I’d probably get another Brux (or at least another one of the single point cut rifling barrels) and have a competent gunsmith cut the chamber and ream a custom throat job! About $700 total, done, around here! Button and Cold Hammer Forged rifling can be more of a crap shoot, especially if the stress relieving is not done correctly.

Brux seems more popular with the F-Class guys!
