Here's how I took the muzzle break off...

Any time you do muzzle device work, the barrel itself should be tightened in a vice, nothing else.

I’ve seen a lot of people just mount the upper without isolating the torque to the barrel and causing problems for themselves, either damaging the upper or un-torquing their barrel from the barrel extension.

Some barrel makers don’t apply enough torque when installing extensions, otherwise it shouldn’t be possible.

One guy wrapped his gas tube around his barrel, it was so bad. Looked like a pigtail and couldn’t figure out what he did wrong.
