22 vs 24 inch 6.5 Grendel Velocities.....

Am I safe in saying that, if I want to shoot at longer ranges with the CZ527 sporting a 24" barrel, the length is not going to 'hurt' anything? I guess what I mean is, should I consider having it cut down to 22" or even 20" if I want to try 1000 yards?

I did this on mine, took about 3.25” off down to 20.25”, can’t remember accurately what velocity was on hornady black after chop but it started at 2552 from the factory 24” (23.5” realistic). Almost positive it still did about 2520. So not as much of a loss per inch as expected but the 2552 original data was not many rounds on it also, could have sped up a touch?

I would not do that chop again. Much preferred the Cz American with long tube. Felt way better.

It shot lights out when I swapped barrel to 24” proof carbon. 2605 fps with a factory eld-m ammo rated only to 2580. 2.5” 3-shot groups easy at 500 yards. It was moa to moa and a quarter on factory barrel pillar bedded.
