This may be a bad idea but I have been doing it for years. My break in is shoot the barrel hot and when done shooting clean it with Turtle wax Chrome polish on a tight patch. Run the same patch in and out until it starts getting harder to push through the barrel and then clean it out with clean patches. This removes any fouling and leaves the bore bright. I had a Ruger in 257 Roberts that had maybe the worst barrel I had ever owned and doing this 3 or 4 times made it into a nice shooting barrel that stays clean. I stop using it when satisfactory results are reached. And I do it only on barrels that foul badly to start with.
